Vocation Promotion Camps
The "Seekers", a group of youth searching for what to make of their lives,
celebrated their Diwali with the Tribals of Ashaghad and Manor.

We were twelve at Ashaghad and nine at Manor.
The stay enriched our life and gave a new direction to our thoughts and feelings.

The joy of being together

One of the seekers expresses himself through these words:
"It was a learning experience with regard to how the Jesuits work with the poor.
We had an opportunity to stay, interact and work (harvesting) with the people,
whereby we learnt about their occupation and lifestyle, their joys and sorrows.
Our experience of harvesting the rice crops made us realize the hard work the farmers put in to provide us with food in the cities. We also realized that even though India has progressed economically, yet the villages which provide us with the raw materials are still in poverty.

We are very happy with this mission exposure which made us realize,
“The harvest is plenty but the labourers are few.”
